MIROMESH® is a non-crosslinked acellular surgical mesh, derived from the highly vascularized porcine liver for the reinforcement of soft tissue. We believe our proprietary perfusion decellularization technique is the only technology available to fully decellularize solid organs while maintaining their structure and vasculature.

In order to manufacture MIROMESH, intact whole porcine livers are isolated and their native vasculature is cannulated. A mild detergent then is perfused through the native vasculature resulting in the rapid decellularization of the whole liver. By 24 hours the decellularization process nears completion, with the decellularized liver retaining its native architecture, vasculature and tissue structure.

Following decellularization, MIROMESH is isolated from full thickness liver sections following slight compression of the liver. This allows for the retention of the native liver structures, including the vasculature within MIROMESH.

MIROMESH comes in a variety of sizes and is intended for use only by trained medical professionals who are familiar with surgical procedures and techniques involving surgical mesh. Federal (U.S.A) law restricts this product to sale by or on the order of a physician.
